TEMPLE (July 9, 2014) A Belton teenager who was injured when his pickup truck slammed into an 18-wheeler after colliding with an SUV Tuesday night on Interstate 35 in Temple later died at Baylor Scott & White Hospital, police said Wednesday.
Victor Tabullo, 19, was driving a Mazda pickup south on the Interstate at around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday when he attempted to change lanes and the truck struck a Nissan SUV that was in the center lane of the highway, police Cpl. Christopher Wilcox said.
Tabullo lost control of the pickup, which started to spin, Wilcox said.
The driver’s side of the truck slammed into the rear of a disabled 18-wheeler that was stopped on the side of the highway just north of HK Dodgen Loop, Wilcox said.
The four people riding in the SUV and two people in the 18-wheeler escaped injury, Wilcox said.
The Temple Police Department Traffic Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
