HOUSTON (January 7, 2013)—A medical examiner was working Monday to identify a would-be robber shot and killed by an armored car guard outside of a Houston theater after a second guard was wounded, police said.
A grand jury will review the shooting, police said.
Police say a female guard was shot in the hip during an attempted robbery Saturday afternoon in the theater parking lot.
She's expected to recover.
No money was taken.
She was confronted and shot while carrying cash from the theater back to the armored car, police said.
The male guard, who was in the truck, returned fire and hit the robber in the chest.
The names of the guards weren’t immediately released.
