Texas Bar Worker Accused Of Delivering Deadly Punch

SAN ANTONIO (January 29, 2014) San Antonio bar worker Daniel Longoria was charged with aggravated assault after a patron whom he says he punched in the head in self-defense died.

A San Antonio police report says the customer, Mitchell Jeremy Sanderson, was under the influence of alcohol when he was asked to leave the bar Sunday night after he allegedly threw a beer bottle behind the bar at the Lost Bar & Grill.

Longoria told investigators that Sanderson went outside, but refused to leave and then insulted and tried to strike him.

Longoria told police that he punched Sanderson in the head in self-defense.

Police say a review of security video showed that Sanderson never tried to punch Longoria, who was free on $50,000 bond Wednesday.
