TYLER (May 22, 2014) A 10-year-old East Texas boy escaped injury after driving his grandfather's pickup truck away from a doctor's office and then crashing it into a fence.
A passerby called police after spotting the boy behind the wheel Wednesday night, Tyler police said.
The caller tried unsuccessfully to get the boy to pull over, police said.
The boy eventually turned the truck into the parking lot of the local children's science center where the pickup struck a metal guard fence and came to a stop.
Officers determined the boy took his grandfather's keys and left a doctor's waiting room after an argument with a younger sibling.
No one was injured and no charges will be filed, police said.
