FRIENDSWOOD (December 24, 2013) An 11-year-old boy who ended up mired in mud nearly up to his thighs while trying to find turtles has been rescued from near a creek in Friendswood.
It was the second high-mud rescue this month for Friendswood police.
Police Chief Robert Wieners says authorities were alerted late Monday afternoon about someone who was stuck near Clear Creek.
Police said the boy was with two friends looking for turtles when he became trapped and his friends ran for help.
First responders rescued the unharmed boy, who was stuck for about 40 minutes.
On Dec. 14 rescued a Friendswood police officer rescued a woman who got stuck up to her waist in mud near the same creek while searching for a dog.
