Texas Boy, 13, Held After Shooting Deaths Of Father, Brother

HUGHES SPRINGS (July 1, 2014) A 13-year-old boy was held Tuesday in the shooting deaths of his adoptive father and brother, who were killed in their rural home in East Texas.

Deputies found the bodies of a 32-year-old man and his 12-year-old adopted son on Friday in the kitchen of the home after responding to a 911 call from the man's 13-year-old adopted son, Cass County Sheriff Larry Rowe said.

The 13-year-old, who’s held at a juvenile center in neighboring Gregg County, has not been charged.

Rowe said there are no other suspects in the case, and said a murder-suicide has not been ruled out.

Authorities did not identify either boy.
