Texas Boy, 4, Critically Injured In I-35 Crash In Kansas

WICHITA, Kan. (August 4, 2014) A 4-year-old boy Texas boy was in a hospital in critical condition Monday after he was ejected from an SUV that overturned Sunday morning on Interstate 35 near Wichita, Kan.

A blown tire caused the SUV to veer into a ditch, where it overturned, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.

The boy’s five-point harness was not completely buckled and it appeared the youngster had partially unbuckled it, Patrol trooper Davone Brame said.

A 52-year-old man was also hospitalized.

Information about his injuries wasn’t available.

The 44-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle wasn't injured.

All three are from Houston.
