SAN ANTONIO (January 27, 2013)--Authorities are trying to determine how a 7-year-old boy, who later died, ended up inside a sand pile at a horse training facility north of downtown San Antonio.
Wyatt McDaniel was playing on Friday with his 5-year-old brother Logan while their father, head instructor Charles McDaniel, was giving a lesson.
At some point, Logan ran to get his father and told him that his brother was stuck in the sand, authorities said.
Wyatt died later at an area hospital.
Bexar County sheriff's spokesman Paul Berry says it appears no one saw how Wyatt may have ended up in the pile.
The accident occurred at the Wild Sunday Farm, about 30 miles north of downtown San Antonio.
