Texas Coach Charged In Sexual Assault Of Cheerleader

KATY (November 23, 2013) Devincent Phillips, 40, a cheerleading coach at a suburban Houston facility, has been charged in the sexual assault of one of his students.

The girl made accusations in October against Phillips, according to a statement from the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office that says the girl accused Phillips of sexually assaulting her on three occasions while she was a student at Xcel Athletics in Katy, a suburb of Houston.

The sheriff's office says Phillips was arrested Thursday at the facility.

He was been charged with sexual assault of a child.

The statement says detectives believe there could be more victims.
