Texas Commuter Train Hits Car Killing Driver

FORT WORTH (October 20, 2013)--A driver who tried to go around warning gates at a rail crossing died when a Trinity Railway Express train struck his car late Saturday afternoon in Fort Worth.

The driver’s car ended up in the path of the oncoming train, authorities said.

The driver, who wasn’t immediately identified, was left trapped in the wreckage.

None of the 150 passengers on the train was injured.

The Trinity Railway Express provides passenger service between Fort Worth and Dallas.
