WILLOW PARK (August 27, 2014) Brad and Kristi Galbraith are suing a North Texas Montessori academy that they say used duct tape to secure their 2-year-old son to his napping mat to prevent him from wandering about.
The suit, which alleges negligence among other things against the Heart2Heart Montessori Academy in Willow Park, west of Fort Worth, contends that academy staffers used the tape in June to restrain the 2-year-old and another child.
It says a former employee snapped photos of the 2-year-old and forwarded them to the Galbraiths and others.
A phone message left Wednesday at the academy was not immediately returned, but in a previous statement the school said the matter was reported to state Child Protective Services.
The statement noted the school has an "exemplary" performance history.
