Texas Deputy On Leave After Deadly Shooting

BLOOMBURG (July 28, 2014) A Cass County sheriff’s deputy who shot and killed a man sought on a felony warrant was on administrative leave Monday.

The shooting happened Sunday in a rural area near Bloomburg, the Cass County Sheriff's Office said.

The name of the 33-year-old man who died and further details on the warrant weren't immediately released.

Chief Deputy Roy Barker says the deputy was placed on administrative leave pending a review of the incident. Texas Rangers are assisting with the investigation.

Bloomburg is a town of about 400 residents about 175 miles northeast of Dallas.
