HOUSTON (November 12, 2013) Administrators have instructed a Houston elementary school teacher to stop writing on students as criticism or reminders after he used a marker to write the letter "B'' on a student's forehead because the student failed to do his homework.
The teacher works at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School.
A statement Monday from the Houston Independent School District said administrators met with the teacher, whose name wasn’t released, and said he confirmed the allegations.
The HISD said the situation is being handled as a personnel matter and the teacher has been told to stop the practice.
One parent, Victor Jimenez, says his 8-year-old son's face was written on.
He said the educator should not be allowed to continue teaching.
