Texas Firefighters Find Woman’s Body After Responding To Grass Fire

HOUSTON (February 22, 2013)—Firefighters in Houston discovered the charred body of a woman after they responded to a small grass fire early Friday morning.

Houston police were seeking the public's help Friday in identifying the woman, whose body was found at around dawn.

Sgt. Ely Cisneros said investigators are trying to determine whether the woman was killed elsewhere and her body was dumped near a building.

Investigators said a passerby called 911 after noticing some rubbish burning just northeast of downtown Houston.

Firefighters found the body under some debris.

An autopsy was ordered.

Further details weren't immediately available.
