QUITMAN (July 25, 2014) Autopsies were ordered after two young sisters, ages 1 and 3, were found dead in their apartment in Quitman in East Texas.
A man who authorities say was at the apartment was charged with evidence tampering, police said.
The names of the two girls haven’t been released.
An unidentified male called police Thursday to report that two children were not breathing, Quitman police Chief Kelly Cole. Cole said.
He’ didn't provide details about the caller.
Witnesses told officers they saw a man running from the apartment and throwing items into a trash bin.
Thomas Wayne Liles of Quitman was arrested and charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
He was held Friday in lieu of $25,000 bond.
Cole declined to release further information on Liles.
