Texas Father Accused Of Playing Video Game While Son Drowned

ANSON (June 25, 2014) Austin Garrett, 20, of Anson, was jailed Wednesday on a charge of abandoning-endangering a child after his 2-year-old son drowned in an outdoor pool.

Police say Garrett was playing video games when the toddler drowned.

On June 4 officers responded to a report of a possible drowning in an above-ground pool at a home in Anson northwest of Abilene.

Efforts to revive Brendyn Garrett were unsuccessful.

Police say the father purposely left the toddler outside while playing a video game with a relative.

Garret’s bond was set at $75,000.
