FORT WORTH (February 24, 2013)--Fort Worth police were looking Sunday for a man who authorities say killed a dog by throwing the animal off a bridge.
A witness told officers he was driving on a street in northeast Fort Worth when he saw the man walking a dog on the sidewalk on the south side of the road.
The witness said he saw the man throw the dog over the bridge and then walk away.
Officers who responded to the scene saw a brown dog lying in a creek below.
The breed of the dog, which did not have a collar, was unknown.
Police Sgt. Kelly Peel says the case is being investigated as animal cruelty.
