DALLAS (March 28, 2014) A 67-year-old Dallas man has been found dead in house so packed with hoarded items that authorities were forced to cut holes in the roof to gain access, police said.
A cadaver dog was brought in to help with a search of the jammed house.
Authorities secured a warrant to allow them to remove the clutter.
Contractors who were brought in to take away the accumulated debris found the man’s body.
Authorities were first sent to the house on Saturday in response to a call from friends who said they had not heard from the man since March 15.
The friends told authorities the man hadn’t been feeling well.
Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel searched through multiple piles in the home but couldn't locate him.
The effort included cutting holes in the roof to gain access through the attic.
