DENTON (March 11, 2013)—Rolando Hernandez of Lewisville joined his son behind bars after smashing his vehicle into the Denton County Jail following denial of his visitation request.
The Denton County Jail was locked down Sunday after the incident that left two inmates with minor injuries.
They were both were knocked from their beds Saturday afternoon by the impact.
Sheriff Will Travis said the father was "extremely under the influence."
The pickup truck ended up in the jail's west wing.
Damage estimates were pending Monday.
Hernandez of Lewisville, who faces two counts of aggravated assault and a criminal mischief count, suffered minor injuries.
His bond was set at $200,000.
