SAN ANTONIO (February 27, 2014) A judge ordered a mistrial in the continuous sexual abuse of a child trial of a San Antonio man after the defendant was found dead in his home.
Joseph Michael Myers, 48, was to have gone on trial Wednesday.
The medical examiner’s office said Myers died Wednesday morning.
The cause is under investigation.
He was accused of repeatedly molesting a brother and sister at a home in Universal City during a two-year period ending in 2008.
The children were between 6 and 8 years old at the time.
If convicted, he would have faced as much as 25 years to life in prison.
