HOUSTON (May 6, 2014) A resident of a Houston-area nursing home was critically hurt in an attack involving some type of fitness weight, in connection with which a second resident was detained.
A spokeswoman for the Harris County Sheriff's Office said the man was being questioned Tuesday, but said no charges have been filed.
The incident happened Monday night at HMG Park Manor of Cypress Station.
A statement Tuesday from the owner, HMG Healthcare LLC, said the safety and well-being of residents and staff are always a priority.
Lewis said the victim was in stable but critical condition when transported to a Houston hospital.
She says he evidently was struck with some type of weight.
She had no information on how the men knew each other or whether they were roommates.
