SAN ANTONIO (April 21, 2014) A San Antonio police officer was on administrative duty Monday after he shot and killed a suspected robber during a struggle, police Chief William McManus said.
Police didn't immediately release the name of the man whom the officer shot Sunday night.
The officer suffered minor injuries when he was hit by a vehicle the suspect tried to steal.
He was able to reach the fleeing man, the pair struggled and the officer shot the suspect.
McManus says police believe the suspect committed two armed robberies and a theft Sunday afternoon.
On Sunday night police found a car matching the description of one used in the crimes, leading to a chase and wrong-way crashes before the suspect tried to carjack another vehicle and flee.
