Texas Rapper Dies In Hotel Fight; Bandmate Charged

CORPUS CHRISTI (February 3, 2014) Christopher Garza, 31, a member of the San Antonio-based rap group the Hooligan Boyz, was jailed Monday, charged with murder in the death of a bandmate after a fight at a Corpus Christi hotel.

Garza’s bond was set at $200,000.

Officers responded to a report of the fight early Saturday and found Miguel Silva, 31, of San Antonio unresponsive, police Capt. Michael Alanis said.

Silva was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Autopsy results were pending Monday.

The Hooligan Boyz performed Friday night at a Corpus Christi club.

Investigators were talking to witnesses and checking hotel security video.
