FORT WORTH (January 2, 2014) John St. Angelo, 49, who’s accused of stabbing his ex-wife to death at the real estate office where she worked in Fort Worth, was taken to a hospital after he surrendered to police following a five-hour standoff.
St. Angelo surrendered after police used a robot to fire tear gas into the house in which he was holed up.
He was taken to a Fort Worth hospital with a gunshot wound to the face that police said was self-inflicted.
Suzanne Parsons, 49, was killed late Monday afternoon at the RE/MAX Heritage office where she worked as an agent.
Court records show that she and her ex-husband had a tumultuous marriage that ended in divorce.
A protective order had been issued against St. Angelo, the records show.
The documents show that the couple's divorce was finalized on Dec. 16.
They filed for divorce in May, the same month that Parsons obtained a protective order against St. Angelo.
St. Angelo was then arrested in June for assaulting Parsons' brother with a hammer.
