AMARILLO (November 22, 2013) More than a dozen students were hurt in a crash involving a school bus and a car in the Texas Panhandle.
Amarillo police say none of the students was seriously injured in the accident Thursday afternoon.
The Amarillo Independent School District students were on a field trip at the time.
Police say the bus carried 41 children from de Zavala Middle School and the driver.
Police say 13 students with minor injuries were taken to hospitals, as a precaution.
The bus driver initially declined medical treatment, but was later taken to a hospital.
Amarillo police say the driver of the car remained hospitalized Friday.
Further details on conditions weren't released.
Police are trying to determine the cause of the crash.
Another school bus was sent to pick up students who weren't hurt.
