Texas School Bus With 60 Children Aboard Catches Fire

LONGVIEW (November 8, 2012)—Authorities Thursday were trying to determine what caused an engine fire in a Longview ISD school bus with 60 children aboard.

Longview School District officials say the front of the bus burned, but everyone on board safely escaped.

Officials say the bus was taking students home from Bramlette Elementary School on Wednesday afternoon when the engine caught fire.

Authorities say the bus driver saw the smoke, stopped the vehicle and then helped students exit.

Authorities are trying to determine what caused the engine to burn.
