HOUSTON (November 2, 2013) Henri Morris, the founder of a Houston-based software company, will serve one year in prison after admitting that he drugged the drinks of female employees and then assaulted the women.
Morris and prosecutors reached the plea deal that called for the one-year sentence, but a judge rejects the agreement, Morris can withdraw his plea and seek a trial.
Prosecutors accused Morris of slipping drugs into the drinks of four women.
The FBI began investigating after one victim talked to a co-worker who had also been victimized.
Morris acknowledged Friday the allegations were true.
A U.S. attorney's spokeswoman defended the short prison sentence, saying Morris would also have to register as a sex offender once he was freed.
Morris founded Edible Software, which provides software to wholesale food companies.
