Texas Soldier Pleads Not Guilty In Infant’s Death

EL PASO (April 11, 2014) Fort Bliss Pfc. Adam Keith Jackson, 22, who’s charged with capital murder in the death of his 11-month-old son, has pleaded not guilty.

He remained in jail Friday in lieu of $250,000 bond.

El Paso County prosecutors have not said whether they'll seek the death penalty against Jackson.

He was charged after an investigation that started when the unconscious infant, Aiden Jackson, was taken to a hospital in early February.

Doctors determined he had head and neck injuries, and an autopsy showed he had a fractured skull among other injuries.

An arrest warrant affidavit says Jackson told officers he dropped the child while caring for the baby at an apartment outside the Army post as the child's mother ran errands.
