Texas Standoff Comes To Deadly End Early Monday

SAN ANTONIO (March 4, 2013)--San Antonio police officers killed a man suspected in an attack on a woman when he emerged early Monday from his house with a rifle after barricading himself inside.

Police Chief William McManus said the man crashed his sport utility vehicle into a neighbor's fence to cover up the attack.

The woman ran away and called police early Monday morning.

When officers arrived, the man refused to come out of his house and when he did finally emerge, he was carrying a rifle.

His body, on the home's front porch, was covered by a yellow tarp shortly afterward.

The woman was hospitalized.

Her injuries didn’t appear to be life-threatening.
