Texas Teacher Arrested In Hit-And-Run That Killed Boy, 6

GRAND PRAIRIE (January 29, 2013)—Tammy Lowe, 53, a teacher at Adams Middle School in Grand Prairie, was arrested Tuesday in a hit- and-run accident that killed a 6-year-old boy.

Lowe turned herself in on Tuesday to answer for the deadly accident that killed John Raidy last week, police said.

The boy was crossing a street on Thursday when a driver ran a red light and the vehicle struck him as his mother and sister watched, police said.

Lowe is charged with injury to a child and failure to stop and render aid.

Authorities said she left a handwritten resignation letter on the desk of her school's principal before she surrendered to police.
