NEW ORLEANS (March 15, 2013)--The volunteer group Texas Equusearch was in New Orleans Friday helping in the search for a school teacher who's been missing since March 2.

Terrilyn Monette, 26, was last seen on March 2 at a bar in Lakeview.

The team launched a boat Thursday in Bayou St. John near New Orleans City Park on Thursday and used sonar equipment to probe the bayou's murky bottom for Monette or her car.

On Wednesday the Equusearch group searched City Park's ponds and lagoons and found cars, but none was Monette's, police said.

Monette is 5-foot-8, weighs 180 pounds and was wearing a green and gray long-sleeve white shirt and blue jeans when she was last seen.

She was driving a black 2012 Honda Accord with Louisiana license WUN494.

Equusearch is based in the Houston suburb of Dickinson.

Volunteers from the group helped search the island of Aruba for missing Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway.
