LUBBOCK (June 24,2013)—Miguel Martinez, 14, died after he ran into a bull statue on the Texas Tech University campus and impaled himself on one of the statue’s horns.
Martinez impaled himself while playing hide-and-seek with friends in the pre-dawn hours Saturday, university spokesman Chris Cook said.
Campus police say Martinez was at the National Ranching Heritage Center with two adults and two minors on the Texas Tech campus when the accident happened.
The 27.5-acre museum and historical park portrays the history, pioneer life and the livestock industry.
