Texas Teenager Dies In Skiing Accident

COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. (January 5, 2013)--A 13-year-old Texas boy died after hitting a tree while skiing at Copper Mountain in Colorado, authorities said.

The Summit County coroner said Tristan Bartlett of Houston wasn't wearing a helmet when he struck the tree Friday.

The resort says he was on a beginner trail at the time.

The boy was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:30 p.m.
