Texas Teenager Shot While In Car With Other Teens Dies

KATY (May 15, 2013)—A teenager who was shot while in a car with other teens later died at a Houston hospital, authorities said.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the deadly shooting Tuesday night appears to have been accidental.

The victim’s name and age weren’t immediately released.

Authorities believe the teenage boy was in the front passenger seat when he was struck.

The driver took the victim to a hospital in Katy, but Deputy Thomas Gilliland says emergency personnel were unable to save the wounded boy.

No charges were immediately filed.

Investigators are expected to do gunshot residue tests on the hands of the other teenagers to determine who fired the weapon.
