MAGNOLIA (December 9, 2012)-- 3-year-old Southeast Texas boy has died in a fire in a travel trailer.
The Montgomery County fire marshal's office identified the victim of the fire Saturday morning west of Magnolia as Dakota Myers and said his body was found in a back room of the trailer.
A 10-year-old cousin also in the mobile home was able to escape.
He and another adult were treated for smoke inhalation.
Assistant Fire Marshal Scott Burlin said relatives and neighbors and then firefighters all tried to reach the child's room, but the flames were too intense.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Authorities say the trailer didn’t have any working smoke detectors.
