Texas Undercover Officer Shot While Serving Drug Warrant

DALLAS (January 8, 2013)--An undercover Dallas police officer who suffered a minor gunshot wound in his leg while trying to serve a drug warrant at a house was recovering Tuesday while investigators searched for a suspect.

Police say the officer's leg was grazed Monday night when shots were fired from inside a house as officers approached.

Police returned fire, leading to a standoff that ended several hours later when a search turned up nobody in the structure.

Police Chief David Brown says the officer was lucky to have avoided serious injury.

The name of the injured officer wasn't immediately released.
