DALLAS (May 22, 2013)—Vibha Marks, 42, whose 1-year-old daughter died after she was left for hours in a car, told authorities she was certain she dropped the girl off earlier at a daycare.

A passerby spotted the unresponsive infant in the car Friday afternoon in the parking lot of the Dallas elementary school where Marks teaches.

The passerby called 911, and then broke out a window, removed the infant, and performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

The baby, identified as Victoria Marks, was taken to Baylor Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on the day after her first birthday.

Temperatures were in the upper 80s that day.

Marks was been charged with child abandonment.

She posted $50,000 bond and was released from the Dallas County jail Saturday.
