CORPUS CHRISTI (October 10, 2012)—Laura, Day, 47, has been charged with child endangerment after her 6-year-old stepson drowned at a beach while in her care.
Corpus Christi police arrested Day Tuesday.
She’s charged in the death of Taylor Syring whom emergency personnel were not able to revive after an outing last Friday near Bob Hall Pier.
Police said Day told them she let the boy remove his life jacket while he was swimming in shallow water.
Autopsy results are pending.
Nueces County Jail records Wednesday did not list Day, whose bond was set at $50,000, as still being in custody.
A service for the boy will be held Saturday.
