HOUSTON (April 11, 2014) Jurors in Houston decided on a life sentence late Friday afternoon in the trial of Ana Trujillo, 45, who was found guilty of murder Tuesday in the death of Alf Stefan Andersson, 59, a University of Houston professor.

Prosecutors said Trujillo struck him at least 25 times in the face with her shoe during an argument in June 2013 at his Houston condominium.

Trujillo was silently crying Friday as the sentence was handed down.

Prosecutors say Trujillo attacked Andersson during an argument at his home after a night of drinking, but her attorney argued that Andersson, a professor and researcher at the University of Houston, attacked the Trujillo and that she defended herself with the only weapon available, her shoe.

During deliberations, jurors asked to look at the blue suede stiletto heel, a size 9 platform pump.
