PORTER (March 18, 2014) A 64-year-old woman in Porter killed the firefighter who lived next door to her after hearing noises at her front door and seeing a man outside her home, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
The woman has not been charged, authorities said.
Samuel Keen, 27, a Houston firefighter, had been out drinking with friends, took a taxi home and may have been intoxicated when he was shot and killed Monday night, authorities said.
The woman fired through the door as Keen attempted to enter her home, authorities said.
He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Sheriff’s Lt. Brady Fitzgerald had no immediate information on why Keen was outside the woman's home.
Officials had no record of any previous disturbances between the neighbors.
The case will be presented to a grand jury.
