FORT WORTH (September 16, 2013)—A Fort Worth woman was wounded when a shotgun that her dog knocked over discharged.
The dog was wandering around the 78-year-old woman’s home Saturday night in Fort Worth when it knocked over the shotgun, which discharged when it fell to the ground.
The woman, who was watching television, was struck in left foot.
She didn't immediately seek medical attention and by the next morning her foot was swollen and she sought treatment at a Fort Worth hospital.
The woman said the dog shouldn't be blamed.
The name and breed of the dog weren't released.
"He has the right to remain silent,” police spokeswoman Sharron Neal said.
