Texas Brothers Charged In Deadly Hit-And-Run Boating Accident

BAYTOWN (July 17, 2012)--Investigators say two brothers are charged in what authorities say was a hit-and-run boating accident in Southeast Texas that left a man dead.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department said the body of Damon Miller of Baytown was recovered Monday.

A man who was with Miller when a motorboat struck their fishing boat Saturday on Baytown's Cedar Bayou was rescued shortly after the crash.

Officials say Jason Clyde Delavergne, 36, and Joseph Charles Delavergne, 33, turned themselves in Sunday night.

They’re charged with failure to stop and render aid.

They were both free Tuesday on $10,000 bonds.

Parks and Wildlife spokesman Mike Cox says additional charges could be filed.
