Texas Couple Dies In Early Morning House Fire

PASADENA (June 22, 2012)—A fire early Friday in Pasadena killed a couple and left a firefighter slightly injured.

The fire broke out in the back of the house shortly before dawn Friday and appears to have been accidental, Pasadena Fire Chief Lanny Armstrong said.

The cause has not been determined.

A coroner identified the victims as Charles Lewis and his wife, Phyllis.

Officials said the woman called 911, but the call went dead as the house burned.

A firefighter suffered a back strain.

Her name and further details on her condition weren't immediately released.
