Texas Gas Well Accident Kills One, Leaves 2 Injured

NACOGDOCHES (July 6, 2012)—An accident at a gas well site at around 8 a.m. Thursday near Chireno left one person dead and two others injured, a statement from the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office said.

Witnesses told deputies that the end cap came off the water line, releasing hitting the three with highly pressurized water.

Sheriff Thomas Kerss said the flying cap hit and killed Jeremiah Keith Neeley, 34, of Kilgore.

The two injured men, whose names weren’t released, were taken Nacogdoches Medical Center, where Kerss says one was treated and released.

Information about the condition of the second worker wasn’t available.
