Texas Man Arrested In Facebook Status Feud

CARLSBAD, N.M. (October 6, 2011)--A Texas man is facing battery charges in New Mexico after police said his estranged wife was hit and her hair was pulled over her lack of response to his Facebook status update.

Benito Apolinar, 36, was arrested Monday after a fight at the home of Dolores Apolinar in Carlsbad, N.M.

According to the criminal complaint, Benito Apolinar posted a comment on his Facebook page about the anniversary of his mother's death, but Dolores Apolinar did not click on the "like" status button.

The complaint said Apolinar told his wife that he was unhappy that she did not respond as others did.

Police said that's when the fight began.
