FORT HUACHUCA, Ariz. (March 17, 2012)--Army officials have released identified a soldier who was killed in a crash near the entrance to Fort Huachuca's airfield in Arizona as Spc. Jonathan S. Thomas, 22, of San Marcos.
A vehicle struck Thomas Thursday morning in an accident involving a motorcycle that left two other soldiers injured.
Fort Huachuca spokeswoman Tanja Linton says all three soldiers were assigned to the Army base's 40th Expeditionary Signal Battalion.
The accident occurred on Highway 90, which skirts the southern Arizona base.
Base officials say Thomas was a satellite communication systems operator maintainer.
He joined the Army on Nov. 16, 2009 and had several awards and decorations.
