Texas Teen In Stolen Truck Dies In Crash After Chase

ROSHARON (January 17, 2012)--Investigators say a teenager driving a stolen pickup has died after a chase and rollover wreck in the Houston area that injured two boys who were with him.

The Department Public Safety identified the boy who died at the scene Monday night as Ezequiel Serna, Jr. of South Houston.

He was either 13 or 14, but his exact age could not be immediately confirmed Tuesday.

Monday night a trooper stopped the truck, which was clocked going 72 miles per hour in a 60 mile per hour zone, and then the driver sped away in a chase near Rosharon.

Trooper John Sampa says the pickup went down a dirt road, lost control and rolled several times.

Serna was ejected.

The two passengers were treated and released from a hospital.
