HOUSTON (April 11, 2011)—Angelica Huerta Clark, 21, has been charged with murder after Houston police say her newborn daughter was found dead in a trash bin in December.
Clark was held without bond Monday, three days after her arrest.
Houston police said a maintenance worker at an apartment complex discovered the infant while moving garbage from one trash bin to another.
Police said the girl, who had no apparent wounds, pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy later determined the baby was born alive and died of asphyxiation and exposure, authorities said.
Police said an investigation revealed Clark was the child's mother.
