WACO (August 27, 2013)—Waco police were looking Tuesday for a man who ran out of a local jewelry store with a diamond engagement ring worth more than $25,000.
The man walked into the Zales store in Waco’s Richland Mall Monday evening and asked to see a particular ring.
The salesman handed it to him and then the man ran out of the store with the princess cut 18-karat white gold engagement ring with a 2 karat diamond.
Officers who responded to the mall at around 7 p.m. Monday weren’t able to find him.
Witnesses told officers the man was a light-complexioned black in his 20s who was 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall with a thin build.
He had what police described as a thin outline type beard and was wearing a white button down shirt, and tan pants or jeans.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the theft to call Crime Stoppers at (254) 753-4357.
