Threat Forces Texas University To Move Graduation Ceremony

Print

STEPHENVILLE (December 16, 2012)—A threat that forced Tarleton State University to move its graduation ceremonies turned out to be a false alarm, the school said.

University spokeswoman Janice Horak wouldn't elaborate on the nature of the threat made in regard to the campus gym, but the school moved some of Saturday’s graduation ceremonies to the football field before authorities gave the all clear by the afternoon.

Nearly 600 students graduated from the school Saturday.

Tarleton State is part of the Texas A&M University System.

The school's enrollment eclipsed a record 10,000 students this fall.
